Surgical Services at Bwera General Hospital

Our Surgical Department is equipped with a modern operating theatre and staffed by experienced surgeons and anaesthesiologists. We perform a wide range of general and emergency surgical procedures to address the needs of our patients from Kasese District and beyond.

General Surgery

Our general surgery unit handles a broad spectrum of surgical cases including:

• Appendectomy (removal of inflamed appendix)
• Hernia repair (inguinal, umbilical, femoral)
• Hydrocele operations
• Wound debridement and closure
• Abscess incision and drainage
• Removal of benign lumps and cysts
• Skin grafting

Obstetric Surgery

Pre and Post-Operative Care

We provide comprehensive pre-operative assessment including blood tests, anaesthesia review and patient counselling. Post-operatively, our nursing staff monitor patients closely in our recovery ward until they are stable to transfer to a general ward.
